Admiral Wachiraporn Wongnakornsawang is a highly respected admiral and a career military strategist in the Royal Thai Navy. His work and contributions in academic and government research publications are in maritime strategy and security cooperation involving Thailand and the rest of Southeast Asia as well as the greater Indo-Pacific region.

Other esteemed positions held by Admiral Wongnakornsawang include Deputy Chief of Staff at the Naval Education Department and Senior Captain attached to the Naval Ordnance Department, Naval Education Department of the Royal Thai Navy.

He is the first Thai person to graduate from both the Malaysian Armed Forces Defence College and the University of Kebangsaan, Malaysia.
