Sergio Tapia is a project management, business development and engineering expert with more than 25 years of experience in technology innovation, process optimization and operations effectiveness. Some of his accomplishments include the establishment of the Baja California Public Safety network, managing an ambitious air quality improvement program involving road repaving by recycling asphalt, as well as operating and expanding industrial facilities housing multinational corporations in Northwest Mexico.

Establishing the Baja California public safety dedicated network, which provides services like encrypted radio, consolidated databases, fingerprints recognition and access to law enforcement agencies.

Creating the 911 Emergency Telephone Service including 24/7 call centers, consolidated dispatch aided by custom-developed software, personnel training and ISO 9001:2000 quality control system.

Building and setting up four state-of-the-art Control and Command Centers throughout the state, for hosting the public safety network and 911 services.

Managing the Asphalt Repavement Program, an ambitious effort by the State Government to improve air quality in the urban areas by recycling asphalt surfaces and expanding the area of paved roads at a reduced cost and execution time.

Leading the technology and computer systems renovation for the state’s Public High School system (COBACH), benefiting over 15,000 students plus teachers and support staff.

Setting up an asset tracking system and a 24/7 dispatch, monitoring and assistance center for a major transportation and logistics company in North America, Mexicana Logistics.

Managing business development and customer relationships for one of the largest industrial developers in Northwest Mexico, the MARAN Group
